Where is Berlin Located?
One of the most visited and important tourist places in Germany, Berlin is located on the banks of the rivers Spree and Havel in northeastern Germany and is the center of the Berlin-Brandenburg region. It is the biggest city in and the capital of Germany. Many monuments on the South Bank attract and draw the tourists.
Being the capital of Germany, it is the federal center of the nation. Berlin was also the center of Hitler’s Nazi regime. Even though it has been more than half a century since the World War II, its horrors still mar its history. It was divided between the Soviet influenced East and the US influenced East by the Berlin Wall until 1989; it had become the battleground for the Cold War.
Regardless of being the birthplace of the World War II Berlin has many historical monuments related and unrelated to the War like the Berlin Wall Memorial, Haus am Checkpoint Charlie, the Fernsehturm, Brandenburg Gate, and the Reichstag building. It is the center for science, culture, media and politics and has dynamic tourist season all through the year.

- The wall museum: Built 55 years ago, this museum was named after the famous checkpoint where Rainer Hildebrandt came to express his protest against the wall. It is a display of the history of human rights. The Museum expanded over time and has been a testament and non-violent contributor to the fall of the Berlin Wall.
- Reichstag Building: Hitler gained control when he took over the parliament in the Reichstag Building in 1933. It is the home to the federation’s government and was reconstructed and completely renovated in the late 1990s.
- Brandenburg gate: The gate was once used as a gateway in Germany to pass from east to best of berlin. In 1961 it become the symbol of sepation of gemany. Brandenburg gate were often seen as political and social events. It was built in 1734 to strengthen the germany fortification. the gate is about 85 feet tall and 86 feet wide
